A few diversions due to the farcical traffic problems we are all enduring at the moment..

A couple of casks from David and Sue at Merlin along with the first bottles in a while..


Dropped into Crewe to collect from Offbeat, always something a little different from Michelle, 2 Saisons, one fruity the other herby, very hoppy pale, black IPA along with blood orange wheat beer, as stated, a little different 😁

Busy Monday….

Had some bits and pieces to sort whilst we were shut, a bit of sanding,painting, varnishing….oh and a bit of furniture moving ;). ..a trial really but i think it looks pretty good….

A couple of new beers today on the continent front along with a restock of a very special brew from Skye, we’veΒ  had a run on this one…..those who have tried it will know what i mean πŸ˜†


De Molen’s 9.2% double IPA Amarillo….Hoegaarden’s special Verboden Vrucht (Forbidden Fruit) an 8.5% Amber Belgian ale, a tad fruity with hint of spice…..Founders famous 8.3% breakfast stout….cornflakes for me please!!!! More of a night cap I’m thinking;)

New arrivals….

We’ve had a few so far this week with more to follow over the next day or so….abtly first its Salford brewers First Chop πŸ˜†, cask and bottles as below, will update site once dates become clear when the cask will be on show…..


Also Lymestone have re-stocked us with both bottles and cask, the Beast is back in stock too ;)…..


Many thanks to the Congleton Sustainability Group for supplying us with Congleton’s first…..very own cider, yes thats correct, Congleton apples kindly bottled by Dunham Press.


We’re in the midst of sorting out our Christmas cask list, Redwillow, Salopian, Heavy Industry, Cheshire Brewhouse, Lymestone, Storm along with debuts from Elland, Roosters and as mentioned above First Chop. …all these will be rolled out over the next month or so, stayed tuned….

All together now!!!!

Happy birthday to us…..happy birth……well you know the rest πŸ˜… all beers primed and ready and rather super too…..

This was the moment when we were running around frantically trying to convince each other that is wasn’t too pink….. and that it would darken to what it should be!! As it was on the tin!!!


Fridge now in situ after a run up to Cumbria, the best Β£23 we’ve spent……wonders of ebay 😁 Carl, our joiners handy work had been oiled ready for the handpumps, a bit of minor readjustment needed but Carl sorted very easily, lights changed above the bar, thanks Martin πŸ™‚


Shelving up and ready for some stock, ikea quite handy too ….


The final touches on opening eve, Keith and Pete on a tidy up, I must of been hiding in the cellar and linda taking the picture, not sure where Carole got to.
